
The 2025/2026 Legal Year of the Imo State Judiciary commenced with a special workshop organized by the Acting Chief Judge of Imo State, Honorable Justice Ijeoma Agugua, aimed at strengthening judicial excellence and deepening collaboration between the Bar and the Bench.
The theme, “Rekindling Judicial Excellence: The Bar, The Bench and The Burden of Restoration,” set the tone for lectures and discussions aimed at enhancing judicial performance, restoring public trust, and strengthening ethical standards within the justice sector.
Delivering papers at the workshop, a renowned jurist, Hon Justice Sabinus Opara of the Imo State High Court, and learned law scholar; Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri, both shared deep insights into judicial reforms, professional conduct, and the role of the legal community in sustaining public confidence in the courts.

Contributing, the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Owerri Branch, Chief Chris Ihentuge, Hon. Justice L. C. Azuama and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ngozi Olehi, called for continuous legal education, improved institutional support, and a stronger partnership between the Bar and Bench in advancing justice delivery.
The finale of the Legal Year Ceremony of the Imo State Judiciary was the Thanksgiving Service and Special High Court Session. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Judges and retired Judges of the Imo State Judiciary, SeniorAdvocates of Nigeria, Legal scholars, and members of the Bar.
